WPN Brings Women Together for Good

by | Jul 31, 2019 | News

Since 2005, the Women’s Philanthropy Network has granted over $1.1 million to effective educational programs in our area. The WPN is a fund of the Community Foundation.  Its members are dedicated to studying the issues that children face in our community and collaborating to find and fund solutions to these issues.

The WPN women are committed to leveraging partnerships to make high-impact gifts resulting in positive change. Each year, WPN members pool their dues to both make an impactful grant award to an effective education initiative and build a lasting endowment through the Women’s Philanthropy Network Fund at the Community Foundation. In addition to voting on which initiatives will receive funding, members are invited to participate in informative programs. This year’s programs will include topics such as health initiatives in schools, the state of childcare and early childhood education in Louisiana, and how early intervention programs can set young students up for long-term success.

All WPN members and those interested in learning more about the WPN are invited to a member social on Wednesday, September 25th, at 5:30 PM. Guest speaker Carolyn Spaht Gonzales will present the outcomes of the Volunteers of America’s Communities in Schools program and the plan for expansion. Email [email protected] for more information.
