May 2nd was a record-breaking day for our community. In its 10th year, Give For Good, created by Community Foundation of North Louisiana, raised $2,757,092 for 209 area nonprofits. This is the greatest total raised since the event began in 2014. Give For Good is an annual online giving day that invites everyone to participate in philanthropy and have a hand in transforming our community.
“Give for Good not only shines a light on all the amazing nonprofits in our area, it also provides a day of community and giving that all can rally around,” says CFNLA CEO Kristi Gustavson. “North Louisiana proves once again that it is an extremely generous community. We are thrilled with the outpouring of community support that will enable nonprofits to provide vital services to those in need and enhance North Louisiana’s quality of life.”
The $2.75 million was raised through 9,104 gifts from 4,412 donors to support 209 area nonprofits. Since inception, the annual event has now raised over $19 million for our community. Donors participating in Give For Good chose from nonprofits who provide services ranging from healthcare to education to the arts. As an extra incentive, all gifts are amplified by the Lagniappe Fund, a bonus pool that matches donations on a pro rata basis.
