DESCRIPTION:There are BIG changes coming to the Community Foundation grant process! Make sure that your organization is prepared and eligible to apply for and receive grants during our 2020 cycle. \nAll applicants are REQUIRED to attend one mandatory Grant Applicant Training Session prior to submitting a Stage One application. Reservations are required and space is limited. The deadline to RSVP is midnight the day before each session. All sessions will be held at Community Central\, 401 Edwards Street\, Suite 125. \nGrant Applicant Training Session #1 – July 16 at 10:00 a.m. \nGrant Applicant Training Session #2 – July 17 at 10:00 a.m. \nGrant Applicant Training Session #3 – July 23 at 10:00 a.m. \nGrant Applicant Training Session #4 – July 24 at 10:00 a.m. \nGrant Applicant Training Session #5 – July 30 at 10:00 a.m. \n(Applicants MUST attend one training session to be eligible to apply for any grant. Space is limited and reservations are required.) \nThe 2020 grant cycle includes two stages; Stage One opens on August 1\, 2019 at 8 a.m. CST and closes August 21\, 2019 at 4 p.m. CST. DESCRIPTION:Following the Resilience screening and community conversations on the effects of childhood trauma\, we invited Dr. Stacia’ Alexander from Dallas to discuss how her mental health clinic at Paul Quinn College has assisted in raising the college’s retention rate from 38 to 71 percent. With over 20 years’ experience as a licensed professional counselor\, Dr. Alexander will speak about breaking the link between mental health and poverty by preparing students for adulthood through mental healthcare. \nRead more about her work in this article from the George W.
